71 singers and their guests from all over Leicestershire and beyond converged on the gardens of Adrian and Ita Cooke and Steve & Maggie Johnson in Wymeswold, Leicestershire for an afternoon of sun, garden party and singing. The groups included, Harmonic Voices, Ten2 Singers (Hinckley), Amika Choir (Leicester), Global Harmony (Melton Mowbray), Ulverscroft Manor Singing Group (Leics), De Montford University Square Mile Choir and Bingham Singing Group (Notts). We were treated to three songs from 'IQ' who have members from three counties!

The afternoon started with a visit to Adrian and Ita's fascinating cottage garden and then a walk along the village and up the steep drive to Steve & Maggie's garden. The kettle was boiled ready to provide refreshments and the Ita & Maggie did stirling work all afternoon keeping up the refreshment supplies on a beautiful sunny and hot summer's afternoon. At 4:00pm the singing started and all the singers were involved in singing some songs and some of the groups did party pieces. The event raised more than £500 from ticket, plant and refreshment sales for the National Gardens Scheme charities. Well done everyone for attending and a special thank you to the hosts and especially Maggie and Ita for their stirling work with the refreshments.
