On the weekend of 17th and 18th June we welcomed Abertillery Orpheus Male Voice and Ladies choirs to sing with us. They arrived in the afternoon of 17th and we quickly had a joint rehearsal at the United Reformed Church ready for our evening concert which started at 7:30pm. A fish and chip supper refueled our Welsh friends ready for the action in the evening. The concert was requested as a fund raiser by the Hinckley Museum charity. Stop press: the event raised £1000 for the Museum building fund!

The weather was stupendous - perhaps a little warm for normal singing outfits but a great concert was enjoyed by an enthusiatic audience. It was lovely to hear the Welsh ladies sing as well as the men. Wales is reknowned for it's male voice choirs but the ladies can sing as well! The Mayor of Hinckley attended the concert, which was much appreciated.

Huge thank yous to all the choirs and to Ann Crabtree for organising a great event. Many thanks to Sylvia and Mac and the choir committee for organising the event on behalf of the choir.

The three choirs sing individually and together....

Blazing sunshine  once again, at Sunday lunch time saw us all at the Red Lion Inn in Burbage enjoying the Burbage Carnival and entertaining the crowds with more singing. The Welsh are born singing and their capacity to keep going is legendary! We hope to be making a return visit to Abertillaery at some time in the not too distant future.

Well done everyone - a great weekend.
