A busy afternoon for the choir on a dull, damp, cool and breezy day. We gathered at the Methodist Church for a quick warm up (literally and musically!) and final check on a few songs and then a short walk to Moat House Care Home for our first sing of the day. Both the Home, the staff and the audience were lovely and warm and we thoroughly enjoyed our 30 min set - including 2 encores - and were impressed at the singing coming from the audience.
Then came the time to brave the great outdoors and head down to Pughe's Paddock for our 30 min set as the 'Finale' of the opening event of the Burbage Community Arts Festival. We had been joined by reinforcements who had not been able to be at the earlier session and 35 singers gave it their all to provide an entertaining and energetic performance. Not even the clouds of smoke and loud hoots from a departing traction engine could distract us! The 'Party in the Paddock' is a lovely local event and was extremely well organised by the BCAF. Many thanks to Laurence and his team. There are lots of attractions coming up over the next few weeks.
