"Strictly for men only....

You like to sing in the shower? You're the tops at karaoke? Why not have a try at singing in a group of men? Most singing groups and open choirs tend to have more women than men and it might be a bit daunting to join in these if you are a bloke. So to make it easier there is going to be a FREE (yes free!) half day harmony singing workshop strictly for men only. The date is Saturday 8th August starting at 9:30 am.  The place is the Wesley Room (downstairs) at Burbage Methodist Church and we expect to finish at 1:00 pm. We can then return to our families or take a swift pint at a local hostelry!

We will learn 3 (or more!) harmony songs that we can sing together. There will be no scores and you do not have to have sung in a group before. The event is open to men (18+) of all ages. This is a safe place for you to come and have a try at something that you've seen others enjoy but are a bit nervous of yourself or maybe you have sung before and would like to try something different. Either way this is an opportunity to find your voice and share it with like minded blokes. Who knows you may get the bug....

The session will be led by Steve Johnson, the musical director of Burbage's new community choir 'Harmonic Voices'. As a bloke Steve has a direct experience of being introduced to harmony singing both in a 'men only' group and in community choirs. There are some basics to learn, if you haven't done singing before, and we will start with those. Very quickly the group will be singing together in harmony.

Steve is a member of the Natural Voice Practitioners Network. The Network philosophy is that everyone can (and should!) sing.  Singing  benefits your health, your wellbeing and gets you out of the house.

Feel free to copy the poster (attached) and pass round to others or post it in your local shop etc."!

Please pass the word! The ultimate aim is to get a group of men together who can sing as a group and with the choir.
